2026-03-31 KMA model upgrade

KMA has upgraded to WAVEWATCH3, v6.07  since 

The resolution has increased from 0.5x0.5 to 0.25x0.25 degree (size increase from 78 to 303 MB).

2025-08-05 JMA system change

JMA has upgraded their products for LC-WFV since   as follows:

  • The "mean zero-upcrossing wave period" parameter have been added
  • The resolution of model have been changed to 0.25 degrees
  • The forecast range for 00UTC has been be extended to 264 hours (forecast intervals from 132 hours to 264 hours are 6-hourly)

2024-11-12 ECMWF model upgrade

The ECMWF forecast system IFS has been upgraded to the version 49r1 since 12Z run on 

The current 0.125x0.125  resolution of the IFS outputs for LC-WFV has been upgraded to 0.1x0.1 degree following the wave model resolution change.

2023-01-16 NZMS model upgrade

The NZMS model has been upgraded to a new version with the resolution changed to 0.1 degrees and the lead time length increased to +180 hours  as per Model upgrades#NZMS

2022-11-22 FTP change

 The access details to the FTP with actual monthly match-up (collocation) data of observations and forecasts as well as the original raw observations data, has been changed as per the information in the related page Data

2022-08-17 BoM model upgrade

A new single model configuration (AUSWAVE-G3) has replaced the legacy global (AUSWAVE-G) and regional (AUSWAVE-R) systems since   This upgrade includes incorporating the latest version of Wavewatch III® (WW3) - version 6.0.7.  Newly the runs at 6 and 18 UTC are provided too but with shorter forecast length (up to +156 hours).
