PresentationMeeting/DiscussionComments

Presentation of Boqi Liu from the CAMS-CMA discussions on ISSI-BJ progress,
with annotation of Yvan Orsolini following discussions with
Boqi Liu, Congwen Zhu, Zhiyan Zuo on the 27th of October 2017

Gianpaolo Balsamo: Indeed that is very good material! Thanks for sharing these results. There are differences in several aspected of the model & assimilation & observation used between ERA-5 and ERA-Interim. One action could be comparing the precipitation (EI-E5) to assess if there is indeed more snowfall in ERA5 over the season. For the land surface processes wind transport may play a role and is among missing processes(?) I am persuaded there is more than one reason. Please add any comment below and feel free to use this space.
