We hope these tips and considerations will help you make the most of your online poster presentation.

  • Ensure you visit the Gather.Town space before the workshop to create your avatar, familiarise yourself with the space and find out where your poster is.
  • For the poster session, choose a quiet location with a stable internet connection. For the best sound quality, we advise using a headset if possible.
  • Use Presenter Mode in Gather.Town:If you have pressed "x" and are viewing the full-screen image, select the Presenter Mode icon on the right of the image. Anyone who is also viewing the image in full-screen can see where you click on the screen.
  • Zoom in: If you have pressed "x" and are viewing the full-screen image, beneath the Presenter Mode icon on the right is a Zoom icon. Just select the Zoom In tool to enlarge the poster. (If you are zoomed in, you'll also see a Zoom Out tool.) You can also click and drag to move the image around when viewing it full-screen.
  • Please be aware that the poster will be presented to fit a screen (16:9). This means that landscape is the most suitable format. However, posters in portrait will also fit well as the poster stands allow scrolling for both presenters and visitors.
  • While presenting, please close any window, tab or programme that might use your microphone or camera.
  • If you have any issues or questions during the poster session, visit the Help Desk in Gather.Town.
