Copernicus Emergency Management Service - Fire  (CEMS-Fire)  include two operational services, both operated by ECMWF who have the responsibilities of running the forecasts 

EFFIS is the European Fire Forecast Information System. Since 1998, EFFIS is supported by a network of experts from the countries in what is called the Expert Group on Forest Fires. In 2015, EFFIS became one of the components of the Emergency Management Services in the EU Copernicus program. It provides pan-European overview maps of fire danger to 15 days in advance, seasonal outlooks up to 4 months ahead

GWIS is the Global Wildfire Information System. It provides global overview maps of fire dangers and is a joint initiative of the GEO and the Copernicus Work Programs. In the new GEO GWIS work program for the years 2020-2022 , the Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS) aims at bringing together existing information sources at regional and national level in order to provide a comprehensive view and evaluation of fire regimes and fire effects at global level and to provide tools to support operational wildfire management from national to global scales.

The CEMS-Fire wiki is split into three main branches, which you can see 'page trees' for below. The pages describe the main CEMS-Fire products and services, including product descriptions, system versioning, and data access.

  • The Global ECMWF Fire Forecast Model (GEFF): For information related specifically to the GEFF model and its detailed documentation and product descriptions, etc.
  • CEMS-Fire Data governance Information about data governance and data access including datasets available in the CDS 
  • CEMS-Fire data handling and notebooks : Hosts various user guides relating to the CEMS-Fire including example jupyter notebooks to create your own graphics
