ECMWF has implemented a new state-of-the-art data access infrastructure to host the Climate and Atmospheric Data Stores (CDS and ADS, respectively). All layers of the infrastructure are being modernised: the front-end web interface, the back-end software engine, and the underlying cloud infrastructure hosting the service and core data repositories. As part of this development, a new data store for the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS) has been created. The CEMS Early Warning Data Store (EWDS) will host all the historical and forecast information for floods and forest fires at European and Global levels. Users are encouraged to migrate their accounts and scripts to the new EWDS Beta before 26 September 2024, when the system will become operational. For more information, Please read: CEMS Early Warning Data Store (EWDS) coming soon! Documentation on how to access data via the CEMS EWDS will be updated Updates to the EWDS documentation are ongoing as the implementation takes place. |
CEMS-Floods (EFAS and GloFAS) datasets are openly available on the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) Climate Data Store (CDS). The CDS provides access through web-based and API-based search and retrieve facilities. It is an easy way for users to access climate-related data, including CEMS-Flood data. Access to the Climate Data Store is available via the web at theCopernicus Climate Data Store.

The data service offered by the CDS is not maintained as a time-critical operational service and should not be used for any time-critical operations! If you would like access to real-time forecast data for time-critical operation please contact us by opening a ticket with the ECMWF Support Portal. A guide on how to do this is provided on the CEMS-Flood Data Support page. |

CDS Support
For queries relating to the CDS, consider consulting the CDS User Forum for detailed discussions related to the CDS (e.g. infrastructure, datasets, etc).
If you cannot find support through the CDS User Forum, all inquiries (including access about access for real-time CEMS-Flood forecasts and/or reforecasts) should be made through ECMWF Support Portal. This portal is the primary entry point for all users for all types of queries on ECMWF data, products, and services. For further information on the ECMWF Support Portal read the news announcement, and for how to submit a query related to CEMS-Flood data see the CEMS-Flood Data Support Page.
