This page gives guidelines on how to acknowledge, cite and reference the illustrates the procedure to cite the ERA5 hourly data on single levels from 1979 1940 to present dataset which and provide appropriate attribution. This dataset is generated under the framework of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). For such dataset, the Licence to use Copernicus products only applies.

Use Case: A user has downloaded ERA5 hourly data on single levels from 1979 1940 to present data from the Climate Data Store to calculate some results that will be presented in an article. The user did not download the data to redistribute it. The user downloaded data from the Climate Data Store on 14 April 2021.7 March 2023.
