S2S, sub-seasonal to seasonal prediction project, is a WWRP/THORPEX-WCRP joint research project established to improve forecast skill and understanding on the sub-seasonal to seasonal time scale, and promote its uptake by operational centres and exploitation by the applications community.

  • The first 5-year phase of the project began in Nov 2013
  • Phase II of S2S began in January 2019 and concluded in December 2023 with the project end
  • Another 5 year period (2024-2028) of archive support has been agreed and is currently underway

This  website is related mainly to the dedicated  S2S data archive of selected meteorological fields which has been created and maintained by ECMWF.
