Secretariat Governance relevance to G3W

  • The INFCOM MS SERCOM SI are the Technical part of WMO.
  • Legal section below SG independent from Adminastrion will be created.
  • Events happens at Local and Regional scale, Knowledge uptake is ideally via Regional-Directors.
  • Regions-to-Secretariat information needs to be exchange in a 2-way manner.
  • Q: What latency in information sharing from Region-to-Secretariat and vice-versa? 24 hour? 1-week? 
  • Decision affecting staff are general in nature should be reached and communicated.
  • Teleworking part of employement attractiveness on the job market and part of strategy discussion.
  • Work is based on trust & is a social contract with benefits (eg. in space&time) and duties.
  • All meetings will be communicated in UTC time for world-wide inclusiveness.
  • A lot of comunication best-practices laterally and vertically in WMO discussed.
  • AI-enable broadcast communication can improve efficiency with new tools under testing.
  • Q: Do we have a WMO-wide map of the External Budget XB? And RB? And are aligned with strategy?
  • A BoD SG/HoC/D1/D2-Calendar more open - however the Entry needs to be intelligible - Coordinators
  • EW4All needs celerity & coordination, Task-Force monthly discussion proposed
  • COP future attendance and pavillions focus. A WMO strategy for Baku will be important.
  • Hydro-Water-Cryo coordination, downstream implication for sectoral activity. 
  • The 2023 1.5°C climate-change signal will be consolidated and published.
  • The first WMO Resources Mobilisation Strategy being finalised soon.
