Introduction

Obukhov Length is a well-known length scale in boundary layer meteorology. It characterizes stability effects (buoyancy versus shear turbulence) in the turbulent layer of the atmosphere near the surface. It is used in air pollution modelling and to characterize the shape of wind profiles in wind energy applications (among many other applications).
