ECMWF have prepared L2B and L2C datasets for testing by the Aeolus CAL/VAL teams (in early 2017, based on L2Bp v2.30). These were prepared by running a realistic simulation of Aeolus using ECMWF model data (wind, temperature, pressure, cloud properties) as input to the Aeolus simulator (E2S) for the date 1/10/2015. The CAL/VAL rehearsal datasets (generated in 2017) are provided here:

We have regenerated the L2B data (in 2018) with the most recent processing chain: E2S v4.01, L1B v7.01 and L2B v3.00.
Earth Explorer files that will normally be distributed by ESA (https://aeolus-ds.eo.esa.int/oads/access/):
- The input Level-1B Earth Explorer data (only first 3 files due to their large size): ALD_U_N_1B_first_3_files.tar.gz
- The auxiliary data used by the L2B processor (not including AUX_MET_12, since too large): L2Bp_inputs_without_AUX_MET.tar.gz
