Publishing a feed on the PREd

Once you are happy with the data request in your feed, you are ready to publish it.

In order to publish the data, you have two options:

For both options, you will be asked to add a short description of the data.

Scheduling a publication

For "Publish changes" option, you will also have the option to schedule the publication, by clicking on "Schedule for later". When you click on "Schedule for later" you can choose from a calendar the day and the time of the publication and the system will publish the changes at that chosen date and time.

Note that the schedule time will be set using your local time, but you will see that the changes will be indicated in the system in UTC time.

Once you confirm the publication, you will be able to see these requests under "Publication requests" or "Scheduled publication" (according to the type of request you sent).

Note about the "Schedule publication functionality": please note that this functionality is intended for reasonable use within normal operational needs. To ensure fair access for all users, we may apply limitations if unusually high usage is detected.

When changes take effect

It is important to note that published changes do not take effect immediately once the data request is published. You have to check the pick-up times table to see what will be the next run to be disseminated according to the new data request. For example, if the publication request contains oper data and it is published at 9:00 UTC, the next run to be disseminated with the new data will be the 06z (if it is part of your request) or the 12z (if 06z is not installed).

Note: Gold users will get the data published 24/7 excluding when PREd is closed to changes (this usually happens before important changes in the systems, for example cycle upgrades, or during long holidays). Silver users will get the data published Monday 00:00 UTC to Thursday 23:59 UTC. In both cases, if the data request is scheduled in a time when PREd is closed or publication is not allowed, the publication will be automatically approved on the following Monday, provided that it is not a Bank Holiday or during freeze periods.
