The file-naming convention and available streams changed with IFS Cycle 50r1 (May 2026). Data produced from 50r1 onwards follows the rules below; earlier files on AWS and other mirrors keep the old names. |
| Retired | Use instead | Notes |
|---|---|---|
stream=scda | stream=oper | 06/18 UTC high-resolution atmospheric data |
stream=scwv | stream=wave | 06/18 UTC high-resolution wave data |
stream=enfo, type=cf | stream=oper, type=fc | The ensemble control is now identical to the high-resolution forecast |
Files from IFS cycles before 50r1 keep the old stream names (scda, scwv) in their paths and file names, and pre-50r1 ENS files contain 51 members (50 perturbed + 1 control). The changes above apply only to data produced from 50r1 onwards. Update any existing workflows accordingly.
