The EFAS products are presented in layers, which are sorted in different categories in the top menu bar:

To activate a layer, hover over the top menu bar, find your layer in one of the categories and press the grey toggle. Now your activated layer will appear in the Active layer list on the right hand side, together with all the other activated layers.


Buttons of the layer menu explained:

  • The layer menu can be collapsed by clicking on the minus () and unfolded by clicking on plus ().
  • The latest forecast is loaded when the round clock symbol on the right of the date / time is green (). 
  • In the list, the order of layers displayed can be adjusted with the arrows ().
  • Layers can be kept in the list but switched off by moving the on/off button (orange is enabled (), grey is disabled ()). There is a main switch on top of the legend switching on/off all layers simultaneously.
  • Layers can be removed from the layer menu by clicking on the next to the info button () or disabled directly in the menu bar on the top. 
  • The info button () opens a layer's legend and further information in a new window.
  • The opacity of a layer is changed clicking on the eye-icon ().

This part of the menu contains some actions that affect all layers, or the presentation of layers. 

  • is equivalent to toggle on/off, but this is applied to all layers at once
  •   is equivalent to remove, but this removes all layers
  • allows removal of all map markers at once
  • is a new addition with the updated web interface from EFAS v5.6. It changes the presentation of the Layers to List view (default), Group view (layers are grouped by their category), or Timeline view (opens an additional widget for layers with animation)

The top menu bar contains further icons to the right: 

Opens all point information windows.

Only visible when point information windows are closed.
