ECMWF ensemble mean 6-hourly precipitation forecast out to 10 days (240 hours). The displayed ensemble mean is the arithmetic mean of the 51 ensemble members (IFS control and 50 perturbed members). The layer shows the interpolated data (from the original 9 km grid) onto the EFAS hydrological model resolution (1 arcmin, approximately 1.8 km).

Animation Precip. COSMO

COSMO ensemble mean 6-hourly precipitation forecast out to 5.5 days (132 hours). COSMO (known as COSMO-LEPS) is the Limited-area Ensemble Prediction System (LEPS), based on the COSMO-model within the COSMO consortium (COnsortium for Small-scale Modelling, including Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland) implemented and maintained by Arpae-SIMC. Currently, the COSMO ensemble consists of 20 ensemble members, which are defined as the most representative members (by a cluster analysis) of two most recent ECMWF ensemble forecasts (as 'super ensemble' with 102 members in total). The displayed COSMO ensemble mean precipitation is the arithmetic mean of the 20 members. The layer shows the interpolated data (from the original 7 km grid) onto the EFAS hydrological model resolution (1 arcmin, approximately 1.8 km). The COSMO area currently does not cover the whole EFAS domain.

DWD 6-hourly precipitation forecast out to 7 days (168 hours). The DWD precipitation forecast is a blend of the ICON-EU model output on 6.5 km (over large portion of the EFAS domain) and ICON (global) output on 13 km (outside of the ICON-EU domain). The layer shows the interpolated data (from the original grids) onto the EFAS hydrological model resolution (1 arcmin, approximately 1.8 km).

AIFS Single 6-hourly precipitation forecast out to 10 days (240 hours). AIFS Single is the deterministic model of the Artificial Intelligence Forecasting System (AIFS) of ECMWF. The layer shows the interpolated data (from the original 30 km grid) onto the EFAS hydrological model resolution (1 arcmin, approximately 1.8 km).
