Layers that support animation are now animated through a new widget - the Timeline. The timeline can be activated by clicking the clock in the layer group:

This changes the Active Layers widget to look slightly differently:

A new widget will also appear at the bottom of the map screen:

This is a new view that is now the only way to interact with the forecast steps of layers with multiple time dimensions (forecast time and forecast step).

Layers are grouped in their respective time step, be it hourly, monthly, etc. Layers without an additonal time step are always in the "No animation" group.

Only one time step can be controlled at a time.

Timeline widget

Once the Timeline view is enabled and the Timeline widget is visible, the usual forecast time selector is hidden, in favour of the one of the Timeline widget. This forecast time selector may step differently depending on what time step group is selected.
