education and training programme, which covers Numerical Weather
Prediction (NWP) and the use of the ECMWF forecast products and computer facilities, is still open.
The deadline for registration is *14th November 2014*.
We hoping to be able to notify applicants within a couple of weeks after the closing date.

The 2014 OpenIFS user workshop was held in Sweden at the University of Stockholm. The meeting was a chance for the small but growing OpenIFS user community to get together with ECMWF scientists, learn about the model and exchange information.
An article on this workshop has now been published in the summer 2014 edition of the ECMWF newsletter available here
