In order to keep the SSH Access to ECMWF computing resources as secure as possible, the Teleport SSH service is updated regularly with the latest security patches.
However, a major update is done on a yearly basis to ensure that the service remains officially supported. Since major versions of the server and clients must be aligned, users are expected to keep their clients and configurations compatible with the production services as they are updated. When a new major version is made available, both new and legacy services run in parallel during a transition period of four months to aid in the migration.
Stay up-to-date
We recommend always switching to the production service as soon as it is officially released, and keep clients regularly updated to the maximum version supported by the server.
