NAME

erm - remove ECFS files

SYNOPSIS

erm [-i] [-{r|R}] oldfile1 [...]

DESCRIPTION

Removes the specified ECFS files. This operation requires write permission in the parent directory.

This removal uses a soft-delete: a deleted file is still kept for several days (currently 30) during which time it is possible, on request to the ECMWF Calldesk, to have the old file restored. After that period, the removal is permanent, and restoration cannot be done.

OPTIONS

-i
interactive: request confirmation for each item
-r
-R
recursive: apply operation recursively through subdirectories

EXAMPLES

erm ec:../myfile
