The completeness performance of the GCOS surface land component is available on WDQMS web tool when “completeness” (as Monitoring category) of “surface” in the “GCOS” monitoring module is selected. By selecting the month and variable, a map will show the number of daily averaged data for the selected variable. The generated map is calculated from the monthly reported number of days missing for data of the variable of interest. It shows the stations whose CLIMAT reports for the selected variable contained average based on the full month of data (green dots), and highlights the stations with monthly average based on incomplete dataset (yellow, orange and red dots).  Worth noting that the system allows to distinguish the stations that did not send any information regarding the number of days missing for data - this information is not mandatory in the CLIMAT reports - during the selected month (brown) from the stations that reported not having include included the observation at all (red) within the selected month. Clicking on a dot on the map opens a screen with detailed information about the station data completeness for the selected month, i.e., the number of days for the selected variable. Clicking on “Time series” opens a screen with a chart containing the completeness information over time (1 year), namely the time series with the monthly values of  the number of daily averaged data for all the variables available (i.e., daily mean surface pressure, daily mean air temperature, daily maximum air temperature, daily minimum air temperature, daily mean water vapour, total daily precipitation and total daily sunshine duration).
