If you are just beginning to explore the products available from ECMWF, the costs and what licence you might need, please start from our forecast charts and data pages. |
What do we mean by real-time forecast data?
Real-time forecast data, or 'valid' data, is all meteorological information in the form of pictures, charts, text or data files for which the verification time is in the future or less than 24 hours ago. This means that it can be used to predict the weather conditions.

Changes to Standard & Research Licence Maximum charge & full NMHS licence holders can make up to 12 changes per contract-year to their data requirements. To propose changes to your requirements, please use the Product Requirements Editor (PREd). Please check our documentation for an introduction to interface features and capabilities. You are entitled to 2 unique configurable ECPDS destinations as part of your Handling Charges. You can purchase up to 8 additional ECPDS destinations at a cost of €14000 per unique configurable destination. Alias destinations (which are an exact replica of your dataset and not configurable) will be charged at €7000 per alias destination. All destinations will contribute to the 100GB per day volume limit. | Changes to Standard & Research Licence Standard Commercial licence holders can make up to 4 changes per contract-year to their data requirements.
You are entitled to 1 ECPDS destination as part of your Handling Charges (KM doesn't understand this - it says above that they don't have access to ECPDS - ECPDS is the interface to access the destination, which is granted to max charge. Could remove the word 'ECPDS' for this one.). You can purchase up to 9 additional unique configurable destinations. The cost of each additional unique configurable destination will be charged at 100% of your contractual Handling Charges (data in each destination cannot be different to that in your contract). Alias destinations (which are an exact replica of your dataset and not configurable) will be charged at 50% of your contractual Handling Charges. |
