The house has been also home to Miss Ruth Asher (1914-2010, Musician) who lived in St Annes up to the age of 96. Moving to England from Germany in 1933 as young promising musician, thanks to influential action of her family friend Albert Einstein, she received a scholarship which saved her from deportation, offering the opportunity for a new life. Ruth became a pianist, musician, teacher of Queen Anne's school and a lively member of the University of Reading, and she was a beloved neighbour of St. Anne's road. This house has also been a good home for the Balsamo family from 2016 to 2023, and it is now on the market.
