Radiosondes

The CMC have has been decoding Canadian upper-air data in BUFR since the beginning of 2014 on a regular basis.  The upper-gradual conversion to BUFR format of the Canadian upper air network is now producing 9 radiosondes in BUFR but these data are still not made availble to the international community.  It is distributed internally and not on the GTS.underway.  The dissemination of BUFR data began in December 2013 and currently there are 15 radiosondes, out of 31, on the GTS.  For the time being, the full resolution profile (sampling every 2 seconds) is not yet available.  Only a selection of vertical levels is sent on the GTS.  Canadian BUFR data contain the drift of the radiosonde.  For more information, please consult the following GENOT.
