Solution

This is a common error message when the client can not contact the Web API server.

If this happens once the request is already submitted, it is usually a temporary error that recovers itself.

  • If it can not not recover, your request will be still valid and you can check the status in the Job List.

If it happens at the beginning when the client is trying to communicate for the first time, it

will try to connect 10 times and then it will give you a meaningful message.

  1. First check that there are no problems with the systems: http://www.ecmwf.int/en/service-status (The Web API may br affected by WEB-SERVICES or CONNECTIVITY)
  2. Check the output message after 10 tries in the Web API - Troubleshooting page.
