GASS https://www.gewex.org/panels/global-atmospheric-system-studies-panel/ progressed in all its project (significant advanced on the surface drag in COORDE). Precipitation remains a key focus.

The presentations of the LightHousesActivities LHAs, aggregating research areas for the next decade and reports from Satellite Agencies have been very inspiring along with the a vision of GEWEX imbracing more processes including the coupled processes related to carbon cycle, and in connection with the other WCRP core projects. Specific work related to Digital Earths will be great companion to the national and international initiatives, to bridge the gap of computing and resolutions, towards global km-scale and regional cloud-resolving, hillslope resolving, and ocean-eddy resolving process modelling. The strive to improve process understanding will continue to be a guiding principle.
