Menu items do not have icons next to them

On some Linux systems, the default behaviour is to not display these. It also means that the Display Window's "zoom stack" does not render properly. Try typing the following into a terminal to fix it:

gconftool-2 --type boolean --set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons true
