On Wednesday, 22 October 2014 the ECaccess gateway at ECMWF (ecaccess.ecmwf.int only) has been upgraded to fix a serious SSL security vulnerability.
As a result, the ECaccess webToolkit version 4.0.1 stopped working via the ecaccess.ecmwf.int gateway. Older versions of the tools are not affected nor is version 4.0.1 if used via your local gateway.
To check whether you are using the ECMWF ecaccess.ecmwf.int you can use the ecaccess-gateway-name command. The version of the tools you are using can be found with the 'ecaccess-gateway-name -version' command.
If you are using version 4.0.1 on your local systems via ecaccess.ecmwf.int, you will have to install the new version 4.0.2 available from:
