Deployment via Morpheus UI (deprecated)

This method of deployment is deprecated, and kept in documentation only as reference for EUMETSAT tenancies that relied on it prior to October of 2025.

  1. Go to Provisioning → Instances and click 'Add' button


2. Use the search bar to find the 'EUMETCAST TERRESTRIAL ON AMT' (type eumetcast or terrestrial for example):

3. Select name for your VM (e.g. eumetcast-client)

4. Use the following specifications for the provisioning of the client:

Note that by default, none of the available VM plans offer you 1.2 TB of storage. In order to reserve said amount of storage, you must attach an additional volume to your VM and specify the desired size:

5. Insert your Tellicast license credentials

6. Select the following security group

 7. Select the floating IP as external

 8. Hit Next and Complete to create the VM

9. (Optional) Improve file availability through retransmission by enabling retransmission feedback ( see  Morpheus Legacy: How to enable NAKs for EUMETCast Terrestrial on AMT and EUMETCast Terrestrial on AMT - How to enable ACKs for details)

11. (Optional) Enable ssh access to the VM, by browsing the Morpheus UI to your eumetcast VM → Network → Security Group → Edit Security Group → add ssh.

12. (Optional) Note that all data is deleted 5 minutes after retrieval by default, to prevent the build-up of data on the machine. To learn how you can modify this behavior, checkout EUMETCast Terrestrial on AMT - How to modify the time to live of the data.

Once the service is provisioned, the user will start to receive their subscribed data on their VM (stored by default in /root/data/eumetcast/ but can be changed in the /etc/cast-client-channels_ter-1.ini file). 

User Notification Service

To access the User Notification Service (UNS), go to uns.eumetsat.int. You can find information on service alerts, scheduled maintenance and service enhancements. You can subscribe to UNS email notifications via the Earth Observation Portal. In addition, users can receive regular updates on scheduled maintenance and service enhancements through our EUMETSAT Users Twitter feed.
