Please note that generation 1 data previously stored on the MN5 databridge has been moved to the LEONARDO databridge. The data will be removed from the MN5 databridge on 12th August.

That corresponds to the simulations:

  • HighResMIP/cont/IFS-FESOM (1990 - 2005)
  • ScenarioMIP/ssp3-7.0/IFS-FESOM (2020 - 2040)

The only thing that must be changed is the address  field in the polytope client:

  • resolution=standard not available for model=ICON.
  • Scientific quality of prototype simulations is subject to ongoing evaluation.
  • Detailed data availability, including missing o2d/o3d fields.
  • Across all models and experiments over the whole timespan: parameters 263003 and 263004 (Time-mean eastward/northward sea ice velocity [m s-1]) have non-zero values in regions where 263001 (Time-mean sea ice area fraction [0 - 1 ]) is zero. The values are static over time and must be treated with care (masked out, for example).

An issue was found with the snow layer of the surface model which led to the erroneous removal of the snow layer. In snow-covered areas , this led to significantly different albedo and consequently a lot of unexpected warming.

Therefore, this data was deleted and was replaced over the course of September 2025.

It should be noted that low latitudes and a large proportion of the European region is not significantly affected, and therefore for many users the new simulation will not have a significant impact.
