MARS/Dissemination

Specifies a rotation of the target grid.

rotation=<value>

A rotation is requested by specifying the position of the South Pole of the rotated grid as latitude/longitude in degrees, e.g. rotation = -30.0/10.0.

ValueComment
rotation = offno rotation (default)
rotation = a/ba is the latitude of the South Pole of rotation in deg.
b is the longitude of the South Pole of rotation in deg.

Rotation is strictly linked to the keyword GRID:

GRID specificationtarget grid
grid=lat/lonrotated regular lat/lon
grid=F...rotated full Gaussian grid
grid=N...rotated reduced Gaussian grid
grid=O...octahedral (reduced) Gaussian grid

and usually specified together with an AREA. Target fields in spherical harmonics are not supported. Target fields in spherical harmonics are not supported. The default interpolation method used is linear.

Examples:

...
grid=0.5/0.5,                    # The target grid will be a regular 0.5 x 0.5 deg lat/lon grid
rotation= -25.0/15.0,   # with a South Pole at -25.0/15.0 deg
...

...
grid=N320,
                    # The target grid will be an N320 reduced Gaussian grid
rotation= -25.0/15.0,   # with a South Pole at -25.0/15.0 deg
