What to do if you get a "Your login details are incorrect" message when trying to log in?

If you are already registered with ECMWF please follow the How to reset my ECMWF password procedure. This should give you a new temporary password that you should then change using the How to change my ECMWF password procedure.
If you know that you are not registered with ECMWF or do not receive any password reset email (do make sure of checking your Junk/Spam folders) you can create a new user id by following: https://apps.ecmwf.int/registration/

How long does my password last?

System set passwords last 30 days, user set passwords last 12 months. After that you will be required to reset your password.

What happens if I do not reset my password?

If you do not reset your password and do not make any login using the ECMWF single sign-on (SSO) to access ECMWF web or computing services then your account will be disabled and you will no longer be able to login.

I have tried to reset my password but I'm unable to login and can't create a ticket what should i do?

What to do if you get a "Your login details are incorrect" message when trying to log in?

If you are already registered with ECMWF please follow the "Password Reset" procedure below. This should give you a new temporary password that you should then change using the "Password Change" procedure.
If you know that you are not registered with ECMWF or do not receive any password reset email (do make sure of checking your Junk/Spam folders) you can create a new user id by following: https://apps.ecmwf.int/registration/

Password Reset

To reset you password follow theses instructions

Go to: https://apps.ecmwf.int/auth/reset-password/

Enter your email or uid.

This will send an email to reset your password, Please check your junk folder.

Once you click the link you will then have a new password presented to you on the screen. After this you can change to a password of your choice by following the "Password Change" procedure.

Please make sure that guidelines are followed:

must be at least 8 characters long
the first 8 characters must contain:
- at least one lower-case character
- and at least one upper-case character
- and at least one digit
- and at least one character in this list:
  @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + | ~
  - = \ ` { } [ ] : " ; ' < >

Once password has been change, it will expire after 6 months

Refresh Login Session

Sometimes your session on your browser for ECMWF service may require a complete refresh because of some expired cookies or if things don't render correctly on the site.
