Pytroll  is a modular, open-source Python framework for processing Earth observation satellite data.  
It is designed for both research environments and operational (24/7)  systems.

How to provision Pytroll Processing

Tenants onboarded to the EUMETSAT site prior to October 2025 support EWC-managed Deployment, as described below. For tenancies onboarded afterwards, you may deploy via the corresponding Community Hub Item on any of the available sites.

EWC-managed Deployment (EUMETSAT Tenants onboard prior to October 2025)

  1. Go to Provisioning → click Add Button

2. Select Pytroll Processing


3. Fill information for the machine and finalize provisioning

    • plan: it depends on the amount of processing needed
    • volumes: increase storage amount depending on your need and available resources
    • network: private
    • satellite data type: SEVIRI or FCI (currently)
    • security-groups: ssh
