Following buckets are accessible from the new endpoint:
- era5.ecmwf.analyses-eo-subset.grib
- mviri.meteosat-0-degree.level-15.native
- cmsaf-cloud-type.meteosat-0-degree.level-2.netcdf-4
Users currently accessing the mentioned buckets should update their configuration to use the new S3 endpoint:
https://s3.r1.cloud.eumetsat.int
The previous endpoint will be disabled by 24/07/2026.
No service interruption is expected, and all standard S3 operations will continue to function normally. If you encounter any issues after switching to the new endpoint, please be in touch via https://chat.europeanweather.cloud or https://support.europeanweather.cloud

As part of essential infrastructure maintenance, all hypervisors underpinning the CCI/EWC platform will require a reboot. This session will take place on Monday 20 July 2026 from 8:00 to 11:00 UTC.
During this maintenance window:
- All user virtual machines will be rebooted and will be unreachable for the duration of the maintenance.
- The Nova API will be unavailable.
- Users should expect any running workloads, sessions, or processes on their VMs to be interrupted.
We recommend users save any in-progress work and anticipate a temporary loss of access to their instances during this period.
We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. As usual, keep up-to-date with any planned outages and overall service status at EWC Service Status page and let us know via the EWC Support Portal if you have any questions or concerns.
Dear all,
We would like to inform you about an upcoming scheduled maintenance window on the EUMETSAT side of the EWC on the legacy/old infrastructure. The maintenance will take place on 9 July 2026, from 07:00 to 12:00 UTC.
This intervention is required to perform network‑related maintenance on the legacy/old infrastructure. No service interruption is expected, and all existing virtual machines and services should continue to operate normally throughout the maintenance window.
While we do not anticipate user‑visible impact, there may be occasional periods of network slowness or dropped connections. Workflows that rely on long‑lasting or persistent network connections - such as data pipelines, large transfers, or streaming operations - may experience interruptions and should be monitored accordingly.
Our team and the cloud provider will be closely supervising the environment during the entire maintenance period.

We are pleased to announce the availability of new updated images at both ECMWF and EUMETSAT for:
- Rocky Linux 8.10
- Rocky Linux 9.7 (replacing 9.6)
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
GPU images have also been updated, on both ECMWF and EUMETSAT sides.
You can already deploy the new images from Morpheus using the usual instance types, or in Openstack using the new image names.

As a general rule, we strongly recommend you always keep your virtual machines up-to-date with the latest security fixes, as highlighted in our Best practices as a Tenant Admin.
