A framework allowing users to run time-critical work at ECMWF is available to our users. Some general background information can be found in a 
(230kB) document from the ECMWF Technical Advisory Committee.
This framework has been divided into three options.
Option 1 allows users to submit jobs linked to the ECMWF operational activity and is called "Simple time-critical jobs".
Options 2 & 3 will allow users to run more complex time-critical work at ECMWF. These options are described in more detail in Options 2 and 3 or in (140kB) "Framework for Time-Critical applications".
Users can also use the infrastructure used for the option 1 above (events, notifications, subscriptions) to manage their own activities. This can be done with the (315kB) "ecevent" command.
