The main use of TOTP is for logging into the ECMWF  Atos HPCF and ECS services using Teleport SSH Access

The steps needed are described in this page .

TOTP is also needed for logging in to the ECaccess gateway (boaccess.ecmwf.int) and ECPDS.

For login with Teleport SSH

Step 1

Go to

  • Login with Teleport tsh client as:
No Format
$> tsh login --proxy=jump
https://www
.ecmwf.int
and click on the Log In link at the top right-hand side of the menu bar

Step 2

  • Your browser should open the ECMWF login page
  • Enter your user name or email address and password in the boxes provided

  • Tip
    titleA note about the email address

    If you use your email address to login for Teleport SSH login then it must be the email address associated with your 3 or 4 character Unix username.

    If you are not sure which is the correct email address, use your Unix username.

Step 3: Ciick on the Sign Log in button

Step 4: Select the TOTP device you will use to generate the one-time code

Note

If only one TOTP device has been configured then the name you gave to it will not be displayed here.

Step 5: Generate a 6-digit one-time code using the selected device and enter it in the box provided

Step 6:  Click on the Sign Log In button

Step 7: You should now be logged in and will see your name in the top right-hand side of the menu barthe Teleport Login Successful page in your browser
