License
OpenIFS is free but requires a license to be signed by the user before access to the model code is provided. See Licensing for more details.
New users are usually asked to send a short expression of interest to openifs-support@ecmwf.int.
Release distributions
OpenIFS is available as tarfiles from the ECMWF ftp site. This is currently password protected. Users are provided with the password when the license has been duely signed.
OpenIFS is also available as a Git repository for selected developers and users. For more details please contact: openifs-support@ecmwf.int.
