I've noticed in some namelists I'm using the value of RVOLVSPEC changes. Looking at the code this appears to be related to the volcanic aerosol optical path. Is that correct?

    Hi Ryan,

    RVOLVSPEC specifies the volcanic load (aerosol optical depth) according to the GISS data sets. It reads it from a pre-prepared data file, so it's not in the climate files. There might be some more information in the IFS research manuals though I have not checked : https://www.ecmwf.int/en/publications/ifs-documentation  (and look under CY43R3).
