Atlassian Confluence requires that any user accessing the system, if logged in, holds a valid Confluence licence. This holds true even if this logged in user is only accessing public areas like the Support Portal, the User Documentation or the Copernicus Knowledge Base. Logged out, anonymous users can access those public areas without any restrictions.

For this reason we do not allow any unlicensed user to login into Confluence via our single sign-on system, and you will get a message like the one at the bottom of this page if you try.

If you do believe that you should have access to any non-public areas of our Confluence system, then please create a ticket for our ServiceDesk, stating which area you want to access and who are your internal ECMWF collaborators or contacts points. Keep in mind that the ticket creation process will again ask you to log in, but no licence is required at this point to create a ticket.

Login error message

We are sorry...

Login into Confluence denied as user is unlicensed. It is still possible to access Confluence public areas as an "anonymous" user, without logging in. Please see this page for more information.

Access to our Support Portal, to the User Documentation or to the Copernicus Knowledge Base does not require login or a licence.
