The file-naming convention and available streams changed with IFS Cycle 50r1 (May 2026). Data produced from 50r1 onwards follows the rules below; earlier files on AWS and other mirrors keep the old names.

What changed

RetiredUse insteadNotes
stream=scdastream=oper06/18 UTC high-resolution atmospheric data
stream=scwvstream=wave06/18 UTC high-resolution wave data
stream=enfo, type=cfstream=oper, type=fcThe ensemble control is now identical to the high-resolution forecast

If you use AWS or other mirrors

Files from IFS cycles before 50r1 keep the old stream names (scda, scwv) in their paths and file names, and pre-50r1 ENS files contain 51 members (50 perturbed + 1 control). The changes above apply only to data produced from 50r1 onwards. Update any existing workflows accordingly.
