Spectral and grid resolution

As a spectral model, OpenIFS spatial resolution is expressed both by the spectral wavenumber truncation and the configuration of the gridpoints. Spectral transforms are used to transform from one space to the other.

In principle IFS can support various configuations of spectral and gridpoints but in practise only a number of configurations are provided for and supported. More details can be found in the following pages.
