OpenIFS is an ECMWF led project which aims to develop and deliver an easy-to-use, exportable version of the IFS system in use at ECMWF. OpenIFS provides the forecast-only capability of IFS (no data assimilation), stays close to operational version and supports all the operational resolutions.
The model is intended for research and educational use by Universities, research organisations and individual researchers on their own computer systems.
