Activating your account for the first time
If your account has just been created then it first needs to be activated before you can use it to log in. You can do this as follows:
- go to the ECMWF web site at www.ecmwf.int
- click on the Login link in the top right-hand part of the menu bar
- use the "Forgot Password" link, which will send you an email with a link to set your own password.
This procedure will not work if you are using an incognito/private tab

Setting up TOTP
Users granted access to the ECMWF Atos HPCF and ECGATE services or the ECPDS web interface for managing and monitoring your dissemination file transfers then you will also need to set up a Time-based One-Time Password device. This is described in Using Time-based One-Time Passwords.
Using the Atos HPC
Users granted access to the ECMWF Atos HPCF and ECGATE services then you will find documentation about how to connect and use these services at HPC2020 User Guide. This includes a link explaining how to set up and use Teleport for SSH access to the systems.
Using the ECMWF Linux Virtual Desktop
Users granted access to the ECMWF Atos HPCF and ECGATE services can also use the Linux Virtual Desktop to connect to a desktop session.
