Accessing free ECMWF data 

Some ECMWF datasets are available to members of the public, free of charge (terms and conditions apply).

You can access free of charge ECMWF datasets in a number of ways:Based on this page: How to download Public Datasets from ECMWF - Web API FAQ

  • Using the web-based catalogue - only for data browser you can download small amounts of public data and WMO essential data.
  • Using the public Web API service ie the programmatic way - this is the preferred way to download data.See Copernicus data ........... add appropriate links here

While the above products are free, you still need to check the licence for their use - you should find licence details with the products themselves.
