OpenIFS is provided free for educational and research use but requires a license to be signed by the user before access to the model code is provided. See Licensing for more details.New users are usually asked to send a short expression of interest to openifs-support@ecmwf.int.
Release distributions
OpenIFS is available as tarfiles from the ECMWF ftp site. This is currently password protected. Users are provided with the password when the license has been duely signed.
