3. Predictability
3.1 Data assimilation
The plots below shows three examples of ASCAT observations for Pam. In the first case (9 March 12z), we had a position error that led to a wrong attribution of direction for some vectors. The second case (11 March 00z) is an example of a good first guess and the third case (12 March 12z) has very strong winds from ASCAT that caused rejections.
3.2 HRES
The plots above shows the HRES forecast for 24-hour precipitation (06-06) from 6 Oct 00z (left) and 5 Oct 12z (right). As seen in the report from MeteoFrance, the band of very high precipitation rates are missing.
