Small business discounts 

ECMWF has adopted the classification of businesses of the European Commission and will apply discounts to 'micro' businesses, i.e. companies with less than 10 staff headcount, and an annual turnover or balance sheet of no more than 2 million euros. 

Once granted, a 50% discount is applied to Information Charge on real-time data. This discount will not be applied to maximum charge customers or customers with the European-cut out licence. For archive licences, a 50% discount is applied. 

Companies apply for this 'Micro' business discount will need to provide self-certification declaring their business status and are obliged to notify the licensor of any changes in its status. For example, if a company becomes a 'Small' business. ECMWF reserves the right to validate such a certificate.

How to request a small business discount

1. Browse and select the data you are interested in in the Product Requirement Catalogue.
2. You will be asked to Create order (or add to basket and select more products - then create order).
3. You will see pricing information (this will be the full price before any discounts) - just keep going!
4. Submit your order and select your location, then select your Licensor.
5. As you complete the ordering process - you will see the option to request a small business discount.
6. Wait to hear back from your Licensor and please be prepared to provide provide self-certification or proof of turnover (income) if requested.  See what happens after placing your order for ECMWF data.
