Solution

Your username is not authorised to use the Access MARS service.

  1. Check that you are logged in using the correct username in www.ecmwf.int
  2. Retrieve the key at https://api.ecmwf.int/v1/key/
  3. If you need an authorised account, check https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/accessing-forecasts. Please be aware that self-registered accounts have a limited access to MARS. Be sure to access the referred page to see how you can gain access to the full contents.
