The EWC Managed Kubernetes Service  is a core part of the European Weather Cloud (EWC), it enables tenants to create and manage Kubernetes clusters within their respective tenancies.

While the Kubernetes control plane is shared across multiple tenants and centrally managed, the worker nodes are deployed directly within each tenancy, ensuring tenant-specific isolation and resource accountability.

The service provides:

  • A centrally managed control plane.
  • Dedicated worker nodes that are deployed within your tenancy for running your applications.

The service provides access through:

  • KKP (Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform): A web interface for creating and managing clusters.
  • Rancher: A web tool for overseeing and managing workloads in your clusters.
  • Kubernetes API: Enabling advanced configurations and automation.

This service integrates with EWC tools like IAM (for login and access) and the Container Registry (for storing your container images), ensuring a smooth and secure experience.
