Overview
If you are inclined to contribute with fixes and features, make sure to familiarize yourself with the contribution guidelines published by the Item owner.
A contribution can be as small as reporting and issue affecting an Item. We encourage the community to raise issues via the channel the Item owner has linked to it's description. Or better yet, if you know how to resolve the issue, test the solution on your own and share it with the Item owner for review and release.
Naturally, these sort of contributions are more feasible for Items hosted in a public location that supports version control, namely:
- GitLab
- GitHub
- Wiki Sites
Nevertheless, you should always check for contribution guidelines of the Item in question. For Items hosted on GitHub/GitLab, this information is typically part of the README.md
or CONTRIBUTING.md
files (see for example the guidelines of EWC-provided Items)
If no documentation on how to contribute is available, you may use the contact information on the Item's detailed page to reach out and clarify how you can share your features or fixes.
Please bear in mind that the release cycle of an Item is up to its owner; they decide which contributions are accepted, when to bump up the Item version, and whether or not they feature a new version it the Community Hub catalog.
Thank you for support in making the EWC Community Hub thrive.
