Description of the upgrade
A modification was made to the initialisation scheme in order to help preserve the tidal waves in the data assimilation. As a result, better use is made of surface pressure observations, in particular in the Tropics. where the tidal fluctuations contribute to a large extent to the observed diurnal pressure variations.
