On this space we collect material for evaluation of severe/extreme weather events. The focus is on the meteorological conditions and the forecast performance. The amount of material differs from case to case, and we are not claiming to give the full picture of the cases here. Users are welcome to contribute with material for the cases by using the comment function in the bottom of each page. 201509 - Rainfall - Southern Europe
On Saturday 12 September southern France was hit but flash floods and the day after Genoa in north-western Italy was hit. 2 people were killed in the Emilia Romagna region. On 14 September a strong convective cell affected Veneto (NE Italy) and created hailstones in size of tennis balls.

201507 - Heatwave - Western Europe
During the week 29 June to 5 July a heatwave affected western Europe, and several July temperature records were beaten, among them the UK July record when Heathrow measured 36.7C on 1 July.

201503 - Tropical Cyclone - Pam
The tropical cyclone Pam hit the Vanuatu Islands on 13 March 2015 with a devastating effect. The cyclone were the second strongest in the southern Pacific after Zoe (2002) and is believed to be the worst natural disaster on Vanuatu in history.
